The European Union Road Federation, the Brussels Programme Centre of the International Road Federation (ERF – IRF BPC)has set up a new cycle of road safety engineering training Workshops in Central and Eastern Europe for the benefit of road safety professionals from the public and private sector. The first workshop, endorsed by the Czech Presidency of the European Union, was held in Prague, 2-3 June 2009.

The seminar touched upon a number of themes directly linked to better road safety amongst others: relevant European standards and norms, their application in EU Member States, road safety infrastructure, road financing etc. It also provided an occasion to discuss and review the Czech and Slovak situation on road safety engineering and assess possible future strategies.
