On Friday 7th May in the afternoon, ERF Director General Christophe Nicodème participated to a conference organised by the Italian Association for Traffic and Transport Engineering (AIIT) on the topic of Road Safety in Europe and Italy, with a particular focus on the experience of the application of the first Road Infrastructure Safety Management Directive 2008/96/EC and the amended Directive 2019/1936.
2 international speakers (Antonio Avenoso from the European Transport Safety Council) and Christophe Nicodème gave a first overview on the importance of the road infrastructure and the European experience, whereas the next speakers gave more specific information about the scope of application and the consequences of the application of the new amended Directive on the Italian road network, including sometimes some risks and opportunities.
This online conference gathered some 150 participants and generated an intense flow of interaction through the chat application of the conference.
