This congress is organised jointly by the European Asphalt Pavement Association (EAPA) and the European Association for Bitumen (Eurobitume); the 2026 edition will be the third.

Eurobitume, the association representing the bitumen industry, is launching a series of webinars.

The first one will be held on 10 May 14:00 to 15:30. This webinar will provide basic information on manufacturing process and end applications of bitumen.

The webinar is not meant for expert only, on the contrary, it is meant to offer fundamental practical knowledge on bitumen (a material currently used in many applications, amongts them, Roads).

The European Commission, together with the European Partnership on Connected, Cooperative and Automated Mobility (CCAM) and the FAME project co-organise the 4th European Conference on Connected and Automated Driving (EUCAD2023), which will take place in Brussels on 3 and 4 May 2023.

EUCAD2023 will gather political leaders from the European Commission and Member States with European and international high-level representatives of industry, academia and road authorities to discuss if our societies are ready for the deployment of smart, inclusive and sustainable mobility solutions.

PIARC XXVIIth World Road Congress will take place in Prague, Czech Republic at the Convention Centre from 2–6 October 2023.

The theme of the Congress is “Prague 2023 – Together on the road again”. An apt theme given that the pandemic has kept us apart for far too long.

Development and economic growth are requirements for countries to prosper. However, the pandemic and the challenges posed by having to consider resilience in the supply and maintenance of road infrastructure taught us to move past the pragmatism of this approach.

Road infrastructure, as a community asset, has shown itself through the years to be a powerful tool in improving the quality of life and promoting social cohesion. However, ensuring sustainability thereof requires integrated, participating, and inclusive processes to achieve the desired results.

This World Road Congress will see a return to an in-person event, and it will thus offer all road professionals a unique opportunity to discuss information on current trends and challenges for roads and road transportation all over the world.

Human behaviour is a major key to a safer road and the most difficult area in a Safe System Approach. ASECAP and its members consider road safety as a priority mission and therefor Road safety campaigns – from billboards to social media – are an important tool to reach this aim.

Safety campaigns are only successful if a positive change in behaviour can be achieved. Marketing and customer relation is a core business of ASECAP members, there is a long and successful experience to work with road user target groups and clear communication on different levels. Within the 15th ASECAP Road Safety Conference experts and decision makers are willing to learn from this specific knowledge, discuss and find new possibilities for new Safety Campaigns.

Speakers and Audience will come from several European countries and institutions, from ASECAP members and partners in Road Safety like Traffic Police, Road Administration, politics and industry. Creating a Safe System is a shared responsibility and an obligation to move forward by sharing knowledge and creating new possibilities.

Focusing on the European Union’s current Fit for 55 plans for alternative fuel infrastructure and scaling up green technologies, the next IRU EU Conference will take place on 1 June 2022 in Brussels.

Connecting Europe Days – formerly known as TEN-T Days – will bring together politicians, industry representatives and the European Commission to discuss transport and mobility, and their role in achieving the ambitious goals set out in the EU Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy.

Participants will see state-of-the art innovations first-hand at an exhibition of EU-funded projects, demonstrations of alternative mobility vehicles and automated transport.

And as 2022 is the European Year of Youth, the Connecting Europe Days will have a specific focus on young voices and views. Young people (incl. trainees) are particularly welcome to attend and we encourage all conference participants to bring their younger colleagues along.
