CEDR-ERF Work Zone Symposium

CEDR-ERF Work Zone Symposium

  • February 2 – 3, 2026
  • Brussels (Belgium Flanders Agency for Roads and Traffic/Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer)

This unique symposium, jointly organised by the Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) and the European Union Road Federation (ERF), will gather senior leaders, policymakers, industry and automotive representatives to advance the safety of Europe’s work zones. Road work zones are some of the greatest risk areas on our networks and coupling every increasing traffic volume with the rehabilitation needs of an aging network presents new challenges.  Changing technologies on vehicles add an additional element to the increasing in scale and complexity.  The symposium will foster dialogue and deliver practical insights on how to protect workers and road users alike.

Co-organised with the 2026 CEDR Presidency, the Republic of Cyprus, Ministry of Transport, Communication and Works and kindly hosted by Belgium Flanders Agency for Roads and Traffic/Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer.   The outcomes of the event will be fed into follow activities including Transport Research Arena and the Cyprus Presidency Vision Zero position.
