Jean Claude Roffé (ERF Vice President) received in Madrid the Medal of International Merit for his outstanding contribution the road sector.
The Spanish Road Association has been awarding the Medal of International Merit for more than half a century to professionals and institutions that do significant work to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of roads. Thus, the award comes as recognition of Mr Roffé’s professional career as an active defender of the road sector ever since 1968.
Mr Roffé started as a civil engineer in Lyon and has developed his international career mostly within COLAS Group (Bouygues), a global leader in the construction and maintenance of transport infrastructure. His early years focussed on managing road construction projects in France. His continuous support of the international growth of the company lead him to Spain where Mr Roffé got involved in various key infrastructure projects aimed at modernising the Spanish road network in the 80s and 90s.
Mr Roffé’s career is also closely linked to the organisation of the World Road Congresses and his involvement in various international and European organisations.
